OSII is the inaugural sponsor of the Social Enterprise Council of NSW and ACT
The Office of Social Impact Investment (OSII) is sponsoring the first year of the newly established peak body for social enterprises in NSW and the ACT.
The Social Enterprise Council of NSW and ACT (SECNA) was incorporated in March 2020 to build and raise awareness for a connected social enterprise ecosystem to help address society’s challenges. It will provide a platform to better connect and coordinate activities between social enterprises and their interactions with other sectors to maximise impact.
Social enterprises are estimated to contribute up to 3% of GDP and employ approximately 300,000 Australians nationally. They mobilise market-based solutions to achieve their social or environmental purpose and make an impact to the community beyond profit.
SECNA membership is now open to join the peak body. OSII is excited to support and collaborate with SECNA to develop a thriving social enterprise sector and achieve better outcomes for the community.
