New benchmarking report finds Australia impact investments delivering positive financial and social returns
A new report from Impact Investing Australia has revealed that Australia’s impact investment market is delivering positive financial returns and impacting the lives of tens of thousands of people through job creation, disability support, education and renewable energy generation, among other outcomes.
The report, Benchmarking Impact – Australian Impact Investment Activity and Performance 2016, is based on Australia’s first aggregated, market base data on the performance of Australia’s impact investment products, active as at 30 June 2015.
The report revealed that Australia has a diverse impact investment market and that there has been an increase in the number of impact investments over recent years, with a focus in the 2015 financial year on green bonds.
