Introductory advice packages for social sector organisations now available
As a result of the strong demand for advice in the first two rounds of the Expert Advice Exchange (EAX), the Office of Social Impact Investment has been working with three advisory firms to support not-for-profit organisations in ways other than one-on-one advice. This includes developing the following introductory advice packages:
- Changing legal structure – a charities' guide to changing from an incorporated association in NSW to a company, developed by Prolegis Lawyers.
- Governance – an outline of key governance issues for social sector organisations, developed by Kemp Strang.
- Intellectual property – an introduction to the basic principles of intellectual property, developed by Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
These packages are introductory and aim to give organisations general information to help them understand key issues in each advice area. They do not constitute legal advice and should not be relied on – please seek your own professional advice.
More detailed information and advice is available from Not-for-profit Law, a specialist legal service for not-for-profits in NSW and Victoria offered by Justice Connect.
