OSII to help deliver the $1 billion social housing fund

On 12 March 2015, the NSW Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Infrastructure Partnerships Australia (IPA) and Council of Social Services of New South Wales (NCOSS) to set up a dedicated fund to facilitate up to $1 billion in new social and affordable housing stock.

The MOU aims to bring together non-government, commercial and government organisations to increase housing supply and improve outcomes for vulnerable households across NSW.

The Office of Social Impact Investment will be one of the government agencies working with IPA and NCOSS to develop options for the fund. Innovative financial options will be considered, consistent with the Government’s reform directions in social housing and the Social Impact Investment Policy.
